Lifeworks Counseling presents an evening with Dr. John Sowers, Executive Director of The Mentoring Project. On Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 6:30 pm. Dr. Sowers will be speaking at Fondren Church in Jackson, MS.
John Sowers grew up without a father, like millions of other children in America. But unlike many children, John had the benefit of faithful mentoring. Now John is telling everyone who will listen about the difference a mentor makes in the lives of the fatherless.
John has spoken at the White House. He also has spoken at Texas A&M, Auburn University, and Oklahoma Christian University; Story conference in Chicago, Catalyst conference, the Justice Conference, Storyline, and the Cove; and at Saddleback Church in Orange County, California; Rolling Hills in Portland, Oregon; and Life Church in Oklahoma City, to name just a few churches.
Dr. John Sowers is the President of The Mentoring Project and author of the recently released Heroic Path: In Search of the Masculine Heart and the groundbreaking book, Fatherless Generation: Redeeming the Story. He received the ‘Champion of Change’ award from the White House for his pioneering work with the fatherless, and has been honored by: Fox News, CNN, RELEVANT, and was named as a “Who’s Next” leader by Christianity Today magazine.
He is a fan of mythopoeia, small batch coffee and the Boston Red Sox. John currently resides in Oklahoma City and Portland, Oregon with his wife Kari, and his two daughters.
